Bad Things

So earlier I explained that we had some horrible things happen this month. Well Thursday morning we found out that my parents house caught on fire, and then Thursday night that one of Rich's good friend's from high school committed suicide. So Tuesday the 15th we headed down to Idaho for the funeral and to see my parents house. In the week that we spent there we were also able to watch our nephew play basketball in districts. That was so fun and a great time to see some of my old friends.

So Wednesday was the funeral, the service was beautiful and we were so blessed that we were able to attend it. After the funeral Rich went with his parents to Utah to look at a 5th wheel trailer and I spent the afternoon and evening with my family at their new home, a single wide trailer. As I walked in the trailer the memories of our trailer we lived in when we first were married came flooding back, I kind of miss it.

Sorry I got a little off track. Well my parents house actually caught on fire three different times. The first time at 1 in the morning then again around noon. Then the next day in the morning. My dad said that after the third time he should have let the whole thing burn to the ground. Well everything with the adjuster is said and done so they will have all new sheet rock paneling put throughout the whole house Bye, Bye 70's paneling!!!! They are thinking of adding some new rooms and vaulted ceiling. I can't wait to see it when they are done. Now for people that don't remember Rich's parents house caught of fire in July. I know as Rich's brother-in-law put it, "Rich and Britt are the common denominator in this equation." Well we need to add Brandon and Tina to it to (my brother and sister-in-law). Her parents home burned completely down to the ground a couple of years ago. So if you know us or live by us you might want to get some good insurance!!!!

This is where the fire started a cable of wire fell against the chimney stack.

Part of the ceiling in the living room upstairs right above the stairs going downstairs.

Looking from dinning room into kitchen, Rich is standing on the landing headed into the family room.

New temporary home, we were all playing "Quelf". If you haven't played it you need to, it is hilarious. For my family whenever the phone rings I want to jump up and say, "Pizza Party!" We are so thankful that everyone got out of the house safely, 3 more minutes and it would have been engulfed in flames. Also a huge thank you to everyone in my parents community for everything they have given them.

Oh the Month of February

So February is a busy month in our household. Needless to say after a couple of horrible events it became an even busier month. So to start it off Rich's and I anniversary was on February 6, which we celebrated our 6th year of marriage. I can't really remember what all we did that day, I think we had a nice dinner and watched a movie after Nathan went to bed. Here are a couple of pictures from our reception. Don't mind the goofy face of me, and I know we were skinny.
Then on the 13th is my birthday, YEA!!! I love birthday's don't know why but I do. Now one thing I guess I don't love about them is that you get older. I am the big 26 now, on the closer side to being 30 (sniff, sniff). Anyways for my birthday we went shopping for skirt and Rich was so nice and patient taking care of Nathan. I think we went to 8 different stores until I found the one I liked. Then out to eat at Country Buffet so yummy, and then grocery shopping all by myself. Nathan fell asleep so Rich stayed in the car with him so I got to shop Albertson's and Winco alone, with no child screaming. I think that was the best present of all. Then to Wal-Mart where Nathan picked out a necklace and earring for me in his sleep. Now that is one talented boy that we have. Then home to relax and watch a movie. It was a wonderful day!

Now it is Valentine's, a day we just get cards and call it good.

The Secret Closet

So my cousin 'Sissy' just sent me a link to her new blog showing off her adorable machine quilts. Her blog is named "The Secret Closet" . She is one talented girl. I love her so much and I am so happy that she has a blog now to show off her wonderful talent. Please go over and check out her site. For some reason I can't post a picture but you will all be amazed.

Charades and Sledding

(Sorry can't get the pictures to move to the bottom of the post.)
So we got here last night which we were happy to be out of the car. After dinner we played games with Joni, Abby, Connor and my dad. The game I think we all enjoyed the most was charades. We decided to make up our own things to act out. I wish everyone could have seed Rich trying to act out "Ariel" from the Little Mermaid. Or me trying to act out an "Walking in a valley and then drinking water". Now you all have to remember that we have an age group ranging from 61 to 7. We had such a good time and are looking forward to playing again tomorrow night with Josey and Jill.

Then this morning we decided to go sledding. Of course we didn't bring any winter clothes. So we found mismatches of everything and put them all on. Thanks to Grandma Jill, Nathan now has snow pants. Nathan loved being pulled on the sled he would say, " 1, 2, 3, GO!!!" After sledding for a while I took Nathan in and Rich took Abby, Connor, Josey sledding. Abby came in shortly after that and said that Rich was "Way to Crazy for me." Rich did get a turn riding on the sleds. When he came in his face was soaking wet and freezing. So tonight we are eating nachos, playing domino's and another round of charades.

Change in Plans

So last night we were heading up to Michael Jay's for ice cream with some friends and our car wouldn't start. Finally we got it started but we are afraid that something is wrong with the fuel pump. So we are taking it in on Monday and we will see what they find out. So here is a Smile Box of pictures and a video of our Thanksgiving in Idaho.

OH NO, A MOUSE!!!

So a couple of weeks ago we had a mouse in our house. Yuck! Nasty little things, I can't stand them. So the other day I thought we had another one and I couldn't believe it. I was down in our extra room grabbing the meat I brought in from the freezer. As I was walking back in the kitchen and I heard a sound coming from across the room. It sounded like metal softly being touched by finger nails. The first thought came to my mind, "Oh no , a mouse!" So I tip toe back down the stairs and look over our extra box spring mattress, and this is what I see! Nathan must have followed me down stairs and slipped behind the box spring before I turned around to come back up. The noise was Nathan being oh so carefully unloading and stacking daddy's pop cans. The box spring sold so now our little man can't hide from mom again.

No more SCARY Vacuum!!

So the past couple of month's our vacuum has been having some issues. It makes a really loud, high pitched noise while you vacuum. Not joking the neighbors that live across the street can hear when we vacuum. So vacuuming is something that I hate to due and Nathan does not like it either. We have been talking for a while that we need to just go and buy a new vacuum, not a Wal-Mart one but a high quality vacuum. We have had 3 bagless vacuums in the past 4 years, I will just say we a not fans of them. I have been hesitant in wanting to get one due to the price of a nice one, but the day came when I knew we had to do it.
I decided to vacuum while Rich was at work, normally I wait until he gets home so he can take Nathan outside. Well after vacuuming the living room I noticed Nathan wasn't in there. I turned the vacuum off and I could hear a soft whimper coming from the kitchen. When I went in Nathan was hiding in the corner by the trash can saying, " All done mommy, all done mommy!" I almost broke down in tears, the vacuum is scaring my little boy. So the next week we headed to town and got our new vacuum. It is a Riccar and we love it, you can actually fill the suction while vacuuming. Our beautiful new blue vacuum. (Sorry can't flip the picture.)Nathan helping daddy.

Now we have a cleaner house and Nathan even likes to push
the vacuum and help, rather than running away.

I'm So Glad When Daddy Comes Home!

So the past two months have been long. So many things going on and Rich being in harvest. So the following pictures you will be able to see how happy Nathan is that his daddy is home. As soon as Rich gets home from work Nathan is attached to his hip, or should I say bum. Lately Nathan enjoys pushing Rich around the house, with his hands on Rich's bum he pushes with all his might. Also Nathan has been poking Rich in the bum with his little fingers, it is quite funny seeing Rich leap into the air while walking down the hall or standing in the kitchen. Before Nathan fell asleep he was combing his fingers through Rich's beard, it was so cute!
Didn't everyone know that daddy's forehead is the place to drive your "TRUCK!"
Rich was drawing a truck for Nathan the other night and
Nathan had to be right there while he was doing it.

The handsome men in my life.

Nathan and Daddy getting ready for bed had to get a picture in the process.
Oh I love these guys so much. It has been so nice having Rich home and not being gone all the time. Nathan loves having daddy home to play with, I think it is because mom doesn't make the truck or tractor noises like dad does.

7 Visits

Can you believe it we have been a total, as a family to the doctor 7 TIMES this month. Nathan was first this month with a sinus infection. Then 3 days later Rich and I both went in and we both had sinus infections. Then a week later I took Nathan in for his Well Check, but after telling them that the previous day he had a fever and wouldn't play at all, just wanted to be held they decided to check him for the the flu. Yes, he did have it so we were stuck in the house for 5 long days. Luckily he didn't have a fever again or throwing up, just acted like normal.

Okay now that is 4 times in 2 weeks. Then at work a tongue of a trailer dropped on Rich's foot. Ouch!!! After x-rays they didn't think it was broken just sprained. He should be going in again soon to get more x-rays due to the swelling. So now he is wearing a walking boot, and just hating it. Now yesterday we took Nathan in again to the doctor's office for his Well Check, finally. He got two shot's and only cried for 30 seconds. What a good boy he is, the nurse gave him a sucker and before we were to the car it was gone. Then this morning I woke up with a horrible cough. So again we headed to the doctors office. Luckily I don't have the flu but the doctor put me on a low dose of Tamiflu since Nathan had the flu earlier this month. Also I am on an antibiotic and cough medicine. So another 3 days locked up in the house.

All I can say is that I am so happy we have insurance, the Tamiflu was $18.00 with the insurance. I couldn't believe it, talk about someone else rolling in the dough. Well we hope everyone else is doing well. Thank goodness this is the last day of the month.

New Do!

So I did it today I cut off 8 inches what do you think? I called to tell my parents and my little brother who is 11 you can hear him in the background. "Oh NO!!!!!" Rich's comment when I told him, "You have got to be kidding me!" Nope I'm not.

Tired and Playful Little Boy

So today I put Nathan down for his nap, after 10 minutes of crying for Daddy this is what I found. I think it is so cute I just had to take a picture. Now for everyone that doesn't know Nathan loves to play in Rich's and mine closet. Mainly due to all the shoes that mom has. We could sit all day by the closet and have Nathan changing which shoes mom wears.
Here is is trying to crawl out dad's side of the closet.

Harvest Time

Things have been so busy here. Harvest has started we are almost 4 weeks into it and 40% done. YEAH! This year has been extremely hard on Nathan, he is having daddy with drawls. Last week I was returning some items to the library and could hear Nathan in the nursery just crying and saying "Daddy , daddy, daddy!" (Yes our little man in in Nursery, he is getting so big). My heart broke so I went in and got him and he spent the rest of the time with me in Primary closing exercises. So whenever we can we make sure Nathan and daddy have time together, yes which means sleeping in bed with us. When harvest is over, things are going to change I think we all need a good nights rest.

So Nathan and I are trying to stay busy with book reading, mowing the lawn, doing craft projects, couponing, and reorganizing the house. Hopefully when harvest is over we will have a cleaner, cute, and organized home.
